We (Optimum Marine Surveys) are transparent about how we use your data. We must comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) set out in the Data Protection Act of 2018. This legislation is designed to ensure that any data you provide us with is handled lawfully.

What personal data will we ask you to provide?

Optimum Marine Surveys will ask you to provide relevant data such as your name, phone number and/or email address so that we can contact you about your enquiry.

If you instruct our services, we will ask you to provide a postal address (which will be held in our accounting software) to make the agreement contractual and in order for us to invoice you.

We ask clients to leave a review of our services, once the service is complete. If you choose to do so, we will ask for your name as part of your submission on our testimonials page. By providing your name, you consent for it to be published on our website, alongside your review. If you would like to leave an anonymous review, please contact us.

We will not ask you for any sensitive personal data.

Do we pass on data to third parties?

We may pass on some of your personal data to third parties with your permission. For example (but not limited to) a broker/dealer/vendor/insurance company as appropriate. We may also pass your details to fellow industry professionals to assist with your enquiry, or in the event that we are unable to fulfil your requirements.

How long do we store your data?

If you have instructed us to provide you with a service, we will store your personal data for a period of 6 years. This is the duration of time our insurance company covers the service we have provided.

What if our policy or the law around data changes?

If we change our privacy policy, or there are changes in legislation, we will update this page. Any significant changes will be sent to you by email, if necessary.

Under no circumstances will we send marketing or spam emails.

How do you remove your details from our database?
